Mid-1990s
The beginning
Paul Marra had become interested in coffee concepts and products in the mid-1990s in Vietnam and South America.
Looking for the gap
The opportunity
Paul sought out where the coffee opportunities could be, examining the global coffee market and identifying where the gaps in delivery were to the consumer.
2006
The result
A true to bean concentrated liquid coffee, shelf-stable at ambient, utilising the total solids and components within the coffee bean: a premium, pure, easy to use, single-origin coffee.
2020
You Be The Barista is born
In 2020, we decided to make our barista-quality extracts available directly to coffee lovers like you. Using our TCB Process®, we developed our flagship Classic Colombian, followed by Honey Badger™ (infused with natural honey) and Melbourne Mocha (co-extracted with premium cocoa).
Why the name?
It’s simple: we want YOU to be the barista. At home, at the office, camping, or mixing cocktails for friends, our coffee concentrates put you in control. Just add water or milk, and create your coffee, your way, anytime, anywhere.

We believe great coffee should be convenient, healthy, sustainable, and accessible to everyone. That’s why we:

Craft a pure, natural coffee extract: no preservatives, no artificial flavours.
Package in formats that are eco-conscious and waste-minimising, with ongoing projects to reuse coffee grounds for food, agriculture and building products.

Eliminating waste and protecting the environment in our operations.
All our spent beans are recycled to agriculture-based enterprises assisting in fertilisation of farming, soil remediation and cropping operations.
We have also developed projects in garden nurseries, vegetable growing, cosmetics and baking options.
